What we do

Our range

We have been the leading rattan expert since 1960. It all started with producing knives for cutting rattan, and we quickly branched out to building the associated machinery.

During the mid 1960s, we started cutting rattan into semi-finished products such as cane and plaited edging. Thanks to over 40 years of experience in in-house production, we guarantee high quality.

What is Rattan?

Natural Rattan comes from the rattan palm (Calamus-rattan), a plant with as many as 600 different species. Each species has its own specific characteristics. The rattan palm grows in the tropics and subtropics and its long vines grow from tree to tree. The rattan palm needs trees to survive. Rattan is available in different sizes, both natural and peeled. Peeled rattan is usually called rattan core and is the centre core of the cane. It is easy to cut into thinner types and in different thicknesses, perfect for wickerwork.

Thick types: suitable for furniture frames, such as manau furniture and patio furniture.

Thinner types with skin: suitable for hot air ballon baskets, carpet beaters, matting and plaiting chair seats and backs.

Round rattan core: the core of the cane, flexible and perfect for plaiting, furniture, baskets, occupational therapy, etc.
