In den sp\u00e4ten 1950er Jahren begann Teun Mendel seine Reise zur Handwerkskunst in einem einfachen Schuppen hinter seinem Haus. Sein Ziel? Schneidwerkzeuge f\u00fcr die Rattanindustrie herzustellen, die vor allem in Deutschland florierte. Bald beschloss sein Bruder, Renger Jan Mendel, sich ihm anzuschlie\u00dfen. <\/p>\n

Teun und Renger machten einen gro\u00dfen Schritt nach vorn und zogen in ein Fabrikgeb\u00e4ude in Apeldoorn. Hier begannen sie nicht nur mit der Herstellung von Schneidwerkzeugen, sondern auch mit der Entwicklung von Maschinen zum Schneiden von Rattan. <\/p>\n

Diese Zeit war f\u00fcr das Unternehmen eine Zeit des Wachstums und der Entwicklung. Die offizielle Eintragung bei der Handelskammer am 1.1.1960 besiegelte ihren Status als Unternehmen, das von nun an unter dem Namen \u2018Gebroeders Mendel\u2019 (Gebr\u00fcder Mendel) bekannt war. <\/p>\n

Ein neuer Kurs<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Wie in jeder Geschichte brachten die 1960er Jahre Ver\u00e4nderungen mit sich. Deutsche Rattan Fabriken begannen, ihre Produktion in den Fernen Osten zu verlagern, und das zwang auch die Gebr\u00fcder Mendel, ihren Kurs zu \u00e4ndern. <\/p>\n

Sie beschlossen, sich darauf zu konzentrieren, Rattan selbst zu Halbfertigprodukten f\u00fcr die M\u00f6belindustrie und handwerkliche Anwendungen zu verarbeiten. Trotz dieser Ver\u00e4nderungen blieb ihr Engagement f\u00fcr Qualit\u00e4t ungebrochen. <\/p>\n

Seit dem 1.1.1980 sind Tonny und Hans, die S\u00f6hne von Teun, in die Firma eingetreten. Seit 1993 leiten sie das Unternehmen und f\u00fchren das Erbe ihres Vaters und Onkels entschlossen fort. <\/p>\n
